TBO.com Awards

Published: Jun 11, 2002

TAMPA - TBO.com has won the 2004 regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Television Web Site, large market, marking the third time in four years that the online company has garnered that honor.

In 2001 and 2003, the company went on to win the national Murrow Award for Best Television Web Site. The 2004 national award will be judged this summer.

The Murrow Awards, named for the famed broadcast journalist, honor excellence in electronic journalism and are given by the Radio and Television News Directors Association (RTNDA). The Best Web Site category debuted in 2001 with TBO.com as the first winner. The 2003 awards were presented in October 2003 in New York.

In 2003, for the second year in a row, TBO.com won the First Place award for the Best Newspaper Online Site for large newspapers in Florida. Sponsored by the Florida Society of Newspaper Editors, the award was presented last June at the organization's annual convention in Ponte Vedra Beach.

The awards reflect the strength of the way content in the News Center is shared among its multimedia partners, TBO.com, The Tampa Tribune and News Channel 8. We strive to provide complete and convenient news, information and entertainment information that is relevant to Tampa Bay area consumers.
